Gerdes Folk City aus: WORLDS OF MUSIC
Der New Yorker Folkclub eröffnete 1960 in Greenwich Village und bestand - nach einem Umzug in die West 3rd Street 1970 - bis 1987. In Gerdes Folk City traten u.a. Pete Seeger und die 10,000 Maniacs auf, Bob Dylan trat 1961 im Vorprogramm von John Lee Hooker erstmals öffentlich auf.
