Der niederländische Glockenspieler und Blockflötenvirtuose war von Geburt an blind. 1625 wurde van Eyck Glockenspieler des Utrechter Domturmes. Mit "Der Fluyten Lust-hof" (1644, 1646, 1649 und 1654) veröffentlichte Eyck eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Solostücken für die Sopranblockflöte.
