Die britische New Wave-Band wurde 1977 von April 1977 von Tom Bailey (Bass/Gesang), Pete Dodd (Gitarre und Gesang), John Roog (Gitarre) und Jon "Pod" Podgorski (Schlagzeug) in Sheffield gegründet. Die Thompson Twins lösten sich 1991 auf.
