Singer-Songwriter aus: WORLDS OF MUSIC

In Anlehnung an die französischen Chansonniers werden im anglo-amerikanischen Raum mit diesem Begriff Liederschreiber bezeichnet, die ihre Songs selbst interpretieren. Einflussreiche Singer-Songwriter sind Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel und Bruce Springsteen. Viele Singer/Songwriter engagieren sich in ihren Songs politisch und sozial wie Billy Bragg in England oder Christy Moore in Irland. Die Entsprechung im deutschsprachigen Raum sind Liedermacher.
