Unter Drogeneinfluss von Marihuana bis LSD entstanden surreale Texte mit und ohne tiefere Bedeutung wie Mr. Tamburine Man (Dylan/Byrds) Lucy in the sky with Diamonds (Beatles), Eight Miles high (Byrds) und Songs mit endlosen Improvisationen (z.B. Doors: Light my fire) und Soundexperimenten, wie sie Jimi Hendrix demonstriert hat.
