Der 1937 in Chicago geborene Folk-Sänger und Songschreiber bleibt nach seinem Wehrdienst in New York und schließt sich der Folk-Szene in Greenwich Village an.
Paxton verfasste zahlreiche Topical Songs und Kinderlieder, darunter "The Last Thing On My Mind", "Ramblin’ Boy", "Bottle Of Wine", "Whose Garden Was This?", "What Did You Learn in School Today?" und "Goin’ To The Zoo".
